My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I listened to the audiobook.

This was an amazing story of the love and grace of God as seen in the lives of two Christian women who dared to hold on to their faith in the midst of a terrible regime. Their stories from Evin Prison were riveting, but from a faith standpoint they were very beautiful. The contrast between practical Christianity and practical Islam is starkly displayed. The treatment of women under an Islamic state government is repulsive. One cannot read this book without feeling the plight of so many women who are kept beneath the foot of such a cruel system.

One of the most profound quotes was, “Anyone who thinks that Islam is a religion of peace needs to spend some time in Evin Prison.” Indeed.

I highly recommend this book to Christians and Muslims.
